Articles about and by Lee Ingleby

Lee Ingleby grew up in Burnley, Lancashire in England.

Lee went to Edge End High School, in Nelson between the years 1987 - 1992. He still sights Drama Teacher Brian Wellock as one of the main influences and catalysts for his interest in Drama and Acting. It was under the Direction of Brian in the High School play 'Kes' that Lee discovered his passion for acting and it was Brian who told Lee that he had the potential to undertake Acting as a career. Brian Wellock has now retired from Edge End High School.

After leaving High School, Lee decided to pursue his career further and enrolled on the BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts course at Accrington and Rossendale College, in Rawtenstall between the years 1992 - 1994. He studied under the Direction of Martin Cosgrif (the Performing Arts Lecturer), who he later stated was 'inspirational' during his time there. Lee, along with fellow students on the course, toured the play 'Teechers' by John Godber to - what is now called - the Czech. Republic.

He auditioned for Drama School and won a place at the prestigious London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) where he undertook a Three-year Acting Course under the main Direction of Colin Cook, the Head of the Acting Department there.

As he was about to finish LAMDA he auditioned for Soldier, Soldier and won the part of Kevin Fitzpatrick. And the rest, as they say, is HISTORY.
